Carters’ Summer Stage: Music at the Farm occurred on July 3rd. The concert began at 6:30, and light hors d’oeuvres were available.

This music concert featured the sort of music beloved by Russell (1923-2015) and Maxine (1929-2022) Carter, the founders of the Carter farm, so members of the family told about brief memories and tie-ins with certain songs sung by the two performing groups: Golden Harbor Quartet & Figuring It Out (the Abello family).

One set was performed by each of the performing groups before a fifteen-minute dessert intermission, where guests were welcome to partake in a Carter classic: strawberry shortcake.

After intermission, there were two more sets. Music ranged from gospel, bluegrass, folk, and classical.

This event is the first of its kind at Carters’ Farm, and it is something we would like to possibly expand on in future seasons.
